Fleshing Out The Ideas For When Not To Go Outside

Now that we have picked the ideas which we like for 'When Not To Go Outside', we now need to flesh out the ideas in order to create a finished series of skits.

When Not To Go Outside....When There Are Giants!

Character is warned not to go out side because of giants. Shows outside of house and door opening. Character goes to take a step out of his door and is instantly crushed by giant foot (foot could crush house).

This idea relies on its quick punchline in order to be funny. The character doesn’t even get a chance to go outside before being crushed. The audience could be introduced to the giants in a previous sketch and for whatever reason the character must leave his house. This leads to him instantly being crushed. By doing this it connects the two sketches together. Character could then be seen as smaller in the next sketch.

The character could be watering his plants and suddenly see a bug on the floor. They get a menacing look on their face and slowly raise their leg to crush the bug. The audience can see a large figure behind the character (of a giant) which is mirroring the exact movements of the character. When the character lowers his leg to be crushed, the giant simultaneously does the same thing to him.

Character gets stuck to the bottom of giants foot. Giant wipes character across the floor with his foot as if he is dog poo.

When Not To Go Outside....During Halloween

There could be a rip-off horror villain (like Jason). They could be standing ominously outside of the character house and their could be scary music playing. The character could hear the doorbell and answer the door. The villain is standing at the door with his knife. The character could pause and then mistake the villain as a fan. The character then takes the knife from the villain and sign it and then close the door in his face. The villain could then re-knock on the door and the character gets annoyed and then answers. The villain could begin raising his arm and then the character hands him some candy and closes the door.

When Not To Go Outside....When The World Hasn't Loaded

I like this idea as this sort of thing can only happen, and make sense, in an animation.

Character goes about morning routine before leaving out the front door. They realize that their street isn’t loaded in properly. It could be a low poly version of the outside world. They slam their door and open it again this could make it change art style. They slam their door again and it could turn into a drawing.

When Not To Go Outside....When There Is No Gravity

Could show God in his workshop. He accidentally trips over a wire labelled "Gravity". This cuts back to Earth, where everything begins to float. God realises his error and put plug back in wall. The final shot shows the character realize gravity has returned and shows him falling.

When Not To Go Outside....End Of The World

This idea can sort of mean anything, its very open.

When Not To Go Outside....Copywrite!

Our animation could contain copywritten material which our company does not own. The character could be aware of this and attempt to hide the content. Could end with our company shutting down.

The copywritten could be censored.

How Scenes Could Connect

After gravity skit, houses in the background could appear to be nailed down.

Final scene could transition into the Funny Bones logo if character turns into skeleton in the final skit.

Reason For Character Going Outside
Halloween skit - because he gets a knock at the door from the killer

Copywrite skit - To hide the material before the animation gets shutdown
